Penang - Campbell St

Heart of Chinatown
This street used to be the red light district but turned into the main thoroughfare for the Chinese community. Personally, I find it strange since everyone is all mixed together and I couldn't tell what made this street more "Chinese" than any other. We walked it a few times.

There are many stores carrying all manner of wares. These dried fruits and nuts were stacked up invitingly on the sidewalk.

On our way to breakfast I saw a rickshaw driver catching up on the morning news.

These old phones surely cannot work any longer. Besides, this part of the world went straight from no phones to cell phones, I'm sure. Everyone here appears to have at least one cell, if not two or more.
