Where? The Maldives are a series of 2,000 coral islands about 450 miles away from Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean. They're a 4 hr flight from Singapore. The Dodo had no idea, not until we checked in. She thought she knew it all. As I told the cabbie what terminal to take us to, she confidently boasted "I know where we're going....to Bali!!" NOT.
We stayed at this place, shown below, in one of the bungalows on stilts out in the middle of the lagoon. It was a pretty incredible experience. I'm posting this from the Male airport - we're headed back to Singapore in an hour. More photos and stories to come.

Ah, I've heard of the Maldives, but know nothing other than the name. Hope you're going to tell how you chose them.
@Sal - a colleague from London recommended it. He was there on holiday and got stuck there because of the Iceland volcano for an extra week. Talk about luck, right?
