Sydney - Ferry

Direct to Manly Beach
We hopped on a ferry to Manly Beach, which is a thirty minute ride northeast, across the bay, on the Pacific Ocean. We got on the ferry at Circular Quay, home to one end of the Harbor Bridge and next door to the opera house.

It was a chilly day, we spent one leg of the trip on the outside and the other leg on the inside.

The views were excellent. Dozens of sailboats were out, carving white trails across the bay. We were on our way to meet a colleague of Dodo's, a woman who does exactly what I do for a living but as an independent consultant.

Here's a view of the gap - the mouth of the harbor that signals that start of the Pacific. I'd incorrectly figured we would be shooting the gap but the ferry stays within the harbor and docks on the harbor-side of the beach.

We walked on Manly beach for a bit before meeting up for coffee with Dodo's colleague. It was a nice stretch of beach with a surprising amount of activity for a cool spring day. Do those wetsuits really work?
