Birthday - Part 3

The Party Continues
While I was still chewing on golf cake my friend Ming called and invited me out for a birthday dinner.  We went to a cool, Frenchy wine bar where the food is good and the wine is perfectly paired by a Frenchy dude in a Frenchy sweater.

Birthday - Part 2

Picking Up the Cake
Jean ordered me a cake from a cakeshop in the 5th.  She asked that I pick it up the day before but I got lazy.  Besides, I figured, I could pick it up after e-golf.  All throughout lunch I kept checking the time, I didn't want to arrive to find the place closed.  I wanted to drop my clubs off at home first, but I didn't want to risk it.  When I walked into the front door, the woman took one look at me and said "I know exactly which cake you're here to pick up."

Birthday - Part 1

e-Golf with Mr. Quiet
I don't announce my birthday to colleagues, I prefer to have it pass by silently.  So when my friend Gilbert offered to take me e-golfing, it was a complete coincidence.  Gilbert works for SAP and was on the project for the first year before wisely moving on.  We got to know each other through golf, in the summer we play together almost every week.  In the winter, the next best thing is e-golf.

Paris - Lightening the Load

Otherwise Known as Pickpocketing
One of Jean's girlfriends, InKee, is spending a vacation week in London and came to stay with me to experience Paris for two days.  Experience it she did - within two hours of arriving she had her pocket picked.  Somewhere between taking in the sights at Notre Dame and the Louvre, her wallet, with most of her credit cards and 300 Euros, was expertly lifted from her pocketbook.  Welcome to Paris!  This has to be especially hard for a Singaporean to deal with coming from a country with little crime but she took it pretty well.  I loaned her some money and we went out to dinner - a real Frenchy dinner of snails and frogs legs.
