We were walking in Shibuya and saw this sign out on the street. It's a cafe with a cat motif.

You first have to wash your hands outside the cafe and take off your shoes and change into slippers. It seemed wierd to me at first, then we realized.....

This is no ordinary cafe. Yes, you can get yourself a drink but the main attraction lies elsewhere.
I'm guessing that it's hard to keep a cat in Tokyo due to the small apartments and the long hours people work here. So, somebody came up with a great idea - bring the people to the cats. It's almost like a rent-a-cat deal.

This guy was above it all, literally. He snoozed away in his penthouse.

While this one tried hard to sleep in his round cardboard bowl.

My favorite is the aloof one in the penthouse. He reminds me of Shakey.
They were all kind of aloof. When there was a shift change, they all thought the new person was going to feed them so they got all excited.
