Paris - Day 7

New Feature - Map
For those of you who like maps, I have created one. Look in the upper right hand corner of the blog. If you click on the words below the map, a Google map will open with flags and pics. Enjoy.
Sunday Warning - Everything's Closed

We've been warned that Paris shuts down on Sundays. Nowhere to eat, no museums to enter, nobody on the streets, no shops open, etc. It is about 7am and I peeked out onto the streets and noted they do look a bit emptier than usual. We will put these warnings to the test soon. Until then, here are some landmarks near the hotel.
The Tour de St Jacques. Only the tower remains, the church was destroyed during the French Revolution. St Jacques is the patron saint of butchers. The tower was used by Blaise Pascal in the 1700s as a laboratory.

Georges Pompidou Center. There is a Wikipedia link in one of my earlier posts about this building.
