Paris - Birthday Weekend

With the Dodo
The Dodo was in London for meetings and I was scheduled to be there a week later so we met up in Paris in the intervening weekend to celebrate my birthday.  We stayed in Montmarte at the top of Rue des Martyrs in a stylish apartment owned by an architectural writer and her husband.
I'd like to tell you we embarked on a new type of Parisian escapade but we found ourselves back in the usual places.  Walking about through the cold winds, shopping and eating.

Le Marche des Enfants Rouge was as busy as ever,
The street art has turned over entirely.  He was standing in the 2nd, near a fire house.

Birds of paper on a wall in the 3rd.

I'd been waiting a year for a croque madame and I knew where to get a good one.

A fancier birthday dinner of venison and carrots.

Desserts in Paris.  Nowhere does it better.

We tried the Picasso museum but sadly, half of it was closed for renovation.  Dodo joked that she'd found Picasso's hand model.

Notre Dame in the background.

On Sunday night we took the Eurostar from Gare du Nord back to London.
