Hong Kong - More Touristy Stuff

One of the Better Views in the World
Ok, yes, it's super-touristy, meaning you are there with hundreds of other tourists, no doubt about it. However, if you let that stop you from coming to the highest point in Hong Kong and take in the view, you're an idiot. Why, they even built a gigantic viewing platform and they only charge you a couple bucks to get in.

Inside the platform building you take a neverending series of escalators and are teased with what's to come.

Once on top, you simply have to will yourself to the glass wall to take a peek from the peak. Come on, you can do it. (Legs feeling jello-y?)

It is one hell of a view. I cannot think of a more impressive one. Top of the Eiffel Tower? Nope. Top of the World Trade Center? Don't think so. This is a shot looking eastwards.

A shot looking directly north. You may be able to see clear to China from up here.

I took a shot looking almost straight down. Can you imagine owning that house directly beneath? The tracks on the right disappearing into the trees is the tram - one of the ways to come up. Me? I took the number 15 bus, that was scary enough.

Looking south you can see the other side of HK Island and beaches there.

I got on the double-decker bus at Central. I managed to snag a front-row, second-level seat. Not sure how wise that was. Most of the trip was on a two-lane street that was barely wide enough for our bus. I swear there were times when I though we were going to go right over the side.
