Taiwan - the Home Stay

What IS a Home Stay?
Turns out, it's what we would call a Bed and Breakfast.  Ours was inland a few kliks, pressed up against the foot of the mountains.
The owners decorated the place themselves - it was refreshingly eclectic.  A mix of western and asian - that's an opium bed.
Both bedrooms looked out onto the yard, with a view of the mountains.
Before it was a crime, the family collected driftwood from the nearby river and used it throughout the house as decoration, a good example of which was the low shelf in the livingroom.
Dodo and I got the upstairs bedroom which had a glass lookout at the top of some hand-made stairs.  It was very comfortable.  We awoke to a nice breakfast of egg salad sandwich and sliced fruit.
