Italy - Bagni di Lucca

Our Local "Big" Town
It's where the grocery store, market, fruit shop and cafes are.  It's just a short drive downhill from Benabbio, perched on either side of an unambitious river poorly named Torrente Lima.  It is quiet and beautiful.

The claim to fame during the Napoleonic era were the the hot springs.  Napoleon's sister spent a bit of time here as did Puccini.  Now it serves tourists like us, those looking for a quiet corner of Tuscany.

We head into town at least once a day.  Sometimes for breakfast, sometimes for una copetta di gelato.  Today we stopped in for dessert and a glass of sparkling white wine.

A walk along the river is a relaxing way to spend an hour.

Did you mean in an earlier post that you're cooking with olive oil made from the olives that grow on your landlady's property?

I just read the other day that the Etruscans first settled in Tuscany, but you probably already knew that.

Yep, correct, the property is loaded with olive trees and she presses them to oil and sells it.
