Syracuse - Raspberries

AKA "Picking" Therapy
Over the rolling hills we drove, along route 20 towards Skanaeateles.  A long train of tailgaters followed as we slowly looked for Navarino farms, our berry picking target.  Once found, we got to work quickly.  We were late to the party, most of the bushes had already been picked clean.
Picking therapy began for the old lady, whose thoughts of raspberry crumble pushed aside any pain and discomfort.
The greedy one needs no introduction, she put as many in her mouth as the basket.
Most of the berries came off easily, leaving a clean innard.
At knee level, many more came into view.  Apparently, we'd been preceded by lazy pickers.
We hauled two quarts, enough for a crumble with leftovers.
All the talk in these parts is how bad the apple harvest will be.  No evidence in sight, the trees were loaded from what I could see.
On the way out, we picked up a jar of raspberry jam and some apple cider.  Then we were off to Skaneateles town for some fish sandwiches.
