Someone came up with a simple, elegant design for a Christmas tree made from empty plastic bottles. Don't know if this was sponsored by the municipal government or was the idea of a local artist - the entire square outside the Louvre was "littered" with them.
A close-up view shows just how simple the idea is. They're attached to each metal ring by screwing them into their tops. Clever.
