From all angles the castle on the hill dominates. It beckons you to visit, which we did, by tram. On the way into the grounds, we stepped in for a quick look at the gardens. They are extensive but we didn't have the time to give them a proper visit.
This is what we came for - this is a shot looking into the sun. This doesn't really convey the scale of it. It is a massive, beautiful, ornate building with plate glass windows and a steep, stone roof.
From the other side of it, close-up, you feel your neck ache to take it in.
I'm guessing that it's 25-30 stories tall and every inch of it was painstakingly crafted. The details are beautiful.
Of course, it came with the requisite jesus story fresco, possibly made with the gold-plating stolen from Indians in far away lands. On second thought, this being Prague - perhaps they had to buy their gold from other seafaring nations.
Sal, this is a shot made by Pingles. She really thinks you'll be able to click on this photo to get a better view and be able to translate the Latin....

The first word is "anno" = "in the year". I might get some other ones, but it's in a medieval script, so it would take me some time.
Pingles said GET TO WORK, SAL.
