Tokyo - Back to the Maze

Sayonara Sapporo
On this visit we stayed near Shiba Park, home of the Tokyo Tower.  Neither could be seen from our hotel window.

We were back in the maze, nothing but buildings crowding the narrow alleys.

We took a walk to the park, about 15 minutes from our hotel.  The Tokyo Tower sits behind an ancient Buddhist temple called Zojo-Ji.  The temple is a grave site for many of the Tokugawa shoguns

The Tokyo Tower was built in the late 50's and modeled on the Eiffel Tower.  It's a communications tower.

It's recently been eclipsed by the Tokyo Sky Tree which is twice as tall.

East of the temple is the Garden of Unborn Children.  It's a grave site for miscarried, aborted and stillborn children.
The stone statues are dressed in warm clothing in the winter.
