Keeping Cars, People and Trains Apart
In the busiest sections of Bangkok, they do a good job of keeping things flowing. High above the street traffic are walkways filled with people and one level above them are the trains, called "skytrains." Three separate rivers of traffic, none of which mix.
Though I don't necessarily like climbing the stairs to cross the street, I do appreciate the shelter from sun and rain. It came in handy today during a 30 minute downpour that I never though was going to stop. Within minutes of the rain stopping, the temperature quickly ascended back into the 90's.
