Landed in Seoul, one word for you: freezing. High 20's, windy. It's all about the layers I tell the rookie. She only half listens, as usual. We ducked happily into the subway to warm up.
The Seoul subway reminds me of most Asian versions: clean, spacious and modern. Seoul has one twist, however - rather than a boring metrocard, you get to pick cutesie plastic baubles like the Hello Kitty below.
I opted for a manlier Angrybirds logo. You buy them at 7-Eleven and then fill them with money at a machine in the subway. You then tap them to enter and leave.
The station near our hotel is about a 300 yard walk that felt like 3,000 yards in the cold. I think one week in Singapore has already thinned out my blood.
Apparently, black is in vogue. Looked like a funeral inside the train. The trains are noticeably wider than most. It felt very spacious, even when we were loaded down with packages during rush hour later in the day.

High 20's is what we're having in Syracuse, and we got about 2" of snow recently. Finally feels like winter. Does it snow in Seoul?
@Sal - sure does snow here. None at the moment, thank goodness. Lots of black ice however.
