A Very LONG Day
A couple of us boarded the 7am Eurostar bound for London for a day of meetings. I dread this type of day - 5 hrs of travel and 8 hrs of meeting. At least is was a nice office - it looked at the back of the New Tate gallery. The Tate is being expanded and the work is ongoing.
What made the day exciting was the prospect of getting stuck. The studes and certain unions were planing a strike for the afternoon. While the meeting unfolded, news arrived that the masses were gathering and bridges were being closed. Helicopters hovered above the City keeping an eye on it all. We lucked out - found a cab to take us to the train station in the nick of time. Back in Paris now, breathing a sigh of relief. A long day. I look forward to sleeping tonight.
