Kuala Lumpur - The Petronas Towers

They Dominate the Skyline
No matter where you go in KL, you see them, the twin towers.  They cast a huge shadow across the city.  I walked from the hotel to them today.

KL is a spiffy looking place.  The central business district is brand new, it's as if it were plopped down fresh in the last few years.  There is almost no sign of any architectural history.  A half mile from the hotel I crossed a park that was ringed with skyscrapers.

The previous iconic tower, called the Kuala Lumpur tower, was pushed off center stage once the Petronas towers arrived.  You can see it in the background of this shot, it's mainly a communications tower but also has a revolving restaurant.

The closer I got, the bigger the shadow.

I bought two tickets for tomorrow to visit the top of the towers and walk the bridge that links them.  Touristy, for sure.
