Santiago, Chile - First Impressions

What I Love About Santiago
Street Art
It's everywhere you look, on the sides of buildings, on billboards, in the subway stations.  Colorful, creative, fun to look at.

The Neighborhoods
One doesn't look like another.  For a city of 6 million people, most of the neighborhoods are built with a human scale.  They're walkable, filled with flowering trees, interesting shops, cafes and restaurants.

The Greenery
Every street is packed with trees, shrubs and flowers.  Even in the afternoon heat, there's plenty of shade to keep you cool while you walk.

The Mountains
The Andes shadow your every move.  After spending a few weeks in them, it's nice to see them from afar.

The Bike Lanes
Most streets have a dedicated bike lane.  Some criss-cross through the parks.
The Museums
It would take weeks to visit them all.
