The first pier of the 1.3 mile long park is open.
There's not much to it yet - but there are two things I like. First, there are huge lights so it will probably stay open late into the evening. Second, though this photo doesn't do it justice, they've built in some elevation changes, which is nice.
Not sure how long it will take to complete, but I'm guessing it is going to take a few years. I'm just relieved to see it moving forward. I was sure it was going to become a victim of the "great recession."
